Haima to unveil first hatchback at Guangzhou show
Shanghai, November 13 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese automaker Haima Investment Group Co will unveil its first ever high-end hatchback at the upcoming Guangzhou International Motor Show which will start on November 19.
Mr. Wu Gang, general manager of Haima Auto Sales Co, said it takes the automaker three years to develop the car, which will come with a CVT transmission. The car's Chinese name and final prices will also be announced at the Guangzhou show.
He added that the car is expected to compete with such foreign brands as Focus, Tiida and Citroen C-Quatre hatchback in the mid-to high-end market, a segment where Chinese brand cars have barely entered.
In September Haimai said it would build two plants at Zhengzhou and Hainan respectively to triple its annual car production capacity to 450,000 units. No timetable has been given for the project.
