Geely launches "Panda" at Guangzhou auto show

Shanghai, November 19 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese car maker Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd officially launched its Panda sedan at the ongoing 6th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition.

The mini car, with its front part resembling a giant panda, will go on sale at 41,800 yuan ($6,126) to 51,800 yuan depending on different specifications.

According to the automaker, the mini-car is the first "Geely Eagle"-labeled model and will be powered by a 1.3L MR479Q engine in the first phase. It can reach fuel consumption of 4.9 L /100 km.

Geely Chairman Li Shufu said on the sidelines of a recent industry conference he expected the company to reach its initial sales target of 230,000 units in 2008 despite the financial crisis.
