Fiat China executive joins BMW's Chinese JV
Shanghai, December 18 (Gasgoo.com) Duan Jianjun, Fiat's chief China business officer, will join BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd, BMW's joint venture with Brilliance China Automotive Holdings, the Jinghua newspaper reported today.
Citing a senior official from BMW Brilliance, the report said Mr. Duan Jianjun may become a senior manager in charge of the venture's sales & marketing.
Mr. Duan became the CBO (Chief Business Officer) of Nanjing Fiat Auto Co., Ltd., an automobile JV located in eastern China's Jiangsu province, in March 2007, but Fiat's Chinese partner Naijing Auto was acquired by Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) in late 2007 and had to terminate its partnership with the Italian carmaker.
Since then Fiat Group Automobiles China has been responsible for Fiat's business in China, but Duan left Fiat China early last month.
