Shanghai, December 26 (Gasgoo.com) Hyundai Motor launched its first luxury sedan Rohens to the Chinese market in late September. Three months later, the Hyundai Rohens now have 10,000 yuan ($1,470) cut off from its prices of 398,000 yuan -- 520,000 yuan each for its four 3.3L editions, said xinhuanet.com today.

Rohens dealers said that all the imported editions of the Rohens model are on special offer now in the Chinese market. The buyer of a Rohens car can get a 10,000 yuan discount and meanwhile the 4S store will give away the buyer the car's insurance or a 10,000 yuan LCD television set. A more discount is possible if the buyer chooses the car in the store's showroom.

Sales staff said that the giveaways of the car insurance premium and 10,000 yuan LCD television will be available until the end of the month, or exactly the end of this year. Starting January 2009, there will be new prices for the Rohens sedan and related promotion events.

Rohens, the Chinese version of Hyundai's luxury sedan Genesis, made its China debut at the 2008 Beijing auto show in April. Hyundai launched the sedan to the high-end market segment to take on leading brands like BMW and Lexus. Reportedly the BMW 5-Series sedan was benchmarked during the Genesis / Rohens' development.

The Hyundai Rohens is a rear-wheel drive, full-size car available in China with a 3.3L V6 engine producing 262 horsepower and mated to the 6-speed automatic transmission.
