Dongfeng '08 output, sales both hit 1.2 mln units

Shanghai, January 4 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Motor Corp announced that it produced 1,226,900 vehicles and sold 1,208,600 units from January to November in 2008, up 16.50% and 18.67% respectively, xinhua.net said today.

With the spreading of global financial crisis, the auto industry slowed down in the second half of 2008. To confront the downturn, Dongfeng Motor has taken positive measures, including adjusting business structure, speeding up research and development of in-house new energy cars and promoting product upgrades, an executive of Dongfeng Motor said.

The latest data showed that Dongfeng Motor had covered 2,776 own-brand model versions in commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles and military vehicles sectors.

Currently, the vehicle sales growth of Dongfeng Motor has surpassed the production growth and is 10.15% higher than the industry average.
