Dongfeng Yueda Kia cars have retail prices up
Shanghai, January 9 (Gasgoo.com) Since the beginning of this new year, many auto dealers have started to mark up the retail prices of their car models.
The Beijing-based dealerships of Dongfeng Yueda Kia have scaled up the prices of the joint venture carmaker's all vehicles by cutting 1,000 ($147) to 2,000 yuan in the discount, said Beijing Times today.
Dongfeng Yueda Kia's three main models now on sale have their discounts cut down. The Kia Cerato model (or Kia Spectra as called in North America) now has its discount cut by 1,000 yuan to 15,800-180,000 yuan.
The Kia Rio discounts are cut by 1,000-2,000 yuan. The 1.4L GL manual Rio now sells for 63,000 yuan, up by 1,000 yuan, and the 1.4L GL automatic Rio now sells for 77,000 yuan, up by 2,000 yuan.
The Kia Sportage SUV has its selling prices marked up by 2,000 yuan. Its discount has dropped from 19,000 yuan to 17,000 yuan.
South Korean carmaker Kia Motors hopes to boost sales of its cars in China by introducing the two or more all-new models in 2009. Its Chinese venture Dongfeng Yueda Kia will make and sell the all-new Kia Forte (derived from Cerato) and Soul compact cars this year.
The upgraded Kia Optima will also be made by the venture for its better sales in the China market.
