Dongfeng, Nissan invest more in Zhengzhou plant

Shanghai, January 14 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Motor Co and its Japanese partner Nissan Motor will jointly inject total capital of 1.04 billion yuan ($152 million) into their Zhengzhou Nissan plant, xinhuanet.com said today, citing Dongfeng Motor Group Company.
 
With the additional investment, the registered capital of Zhengzhou Nissan, a light commercial vehicle joint venture between Dongfeng and Nissan, will reach 1.29 billion yuan from 250 million yuan.

Dongfeng Motor and Nissan Motor have also planned to increase the 2009 sales target of the Zhengzhou Nissan to 60,000 units, a 27% growth over 2008.

Sales of Zhengzhou Nissan rose 21% to 47,166 units in 2008, with the D22 pickup, Ruiqi and Paladin growing fast, up 16%, 18.2% and 4.1% respectively.

The joint venture is planning to introduce three new models to the market in 2009, including Nissan high-end NT400 Cabstar, Dongfeng economical MPV and Nissan intelligent MPV.
