An international car race will be staged on the frozen surface of Heilongjiang river in the most northern part of China, organizers said in Beijing on Monday.
The annual race, starting from 2004, will be held in Mohe, a small town on the border of Daxing'anling region, the northernmost part of Heilongjiang province. Its location won itself a nickname the Chinese North Pole.
"This year we made some changes to the race course, adding more curves and making it broader, which work for better drifting," said event director Lai Baogui.
Sixty cars entered the event, slated for March 8 to 10 in the town with an average temperature of minus 5.5 degrees Celsius.
