Land Rover '08 China sales up 70% to 11,108 units
Shanghai, March 3 (Gasgoo.com) Tata Motors' Land Rover division said it sold 11,108 vehicles in China in 2008, up 69 percent from 6,573 vehicles sold in 2007.
This sales figure accounts for 6% of Land Rover's global sales last year and makes China the fifth largest market for the brand, following Britain, Europe, Russia and the U.S.
Tata's managing director Phil Popham said the automaker would formally launch Land Rover Freelander TD4_e and Land Rover Range Rover TdV8 editions in China this year to further boost sales.
Land Rover sold 4,862 units of Freelander 2 in China in 2008, up 110% from a year earlier. Currently, Land Rover has 43 dealerships across the country.
