Zhengzhou Nissan to sell 200,000 vehicles by '12
Shanghai, March 19 (Gasgoo.com) Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Co., Ltd has announced that it aims to produce and sell 100,000 vehicles by 2010 and will double this number by 2012, Guo Zhenfu, general manager of the company told Information Times recently.
Zhengzhou Nissan, a 50-50 joint venture between Dongfeng Automobile Co and Japanese Nissan Motor Co, posted a double-digit growth last year though faced with the global financial crisis.
According to Guo, light commercial vehicles (LCV) act as the automaker's most competitive product in the market. The LCV is believed to have huge market potential in the future, he said.
The automaker sold 47,166 vehicles in 2008, with domestic sales up 21.1% year on year, much higher than the industry average growth of 6.7%. Its three flagship models D22 pickup, Paladin SUV, and Ruiqi TVC were among the hot-selling models in each segment.
Zhenzhou Nissan reportedly plans to sell 60,000 vehicles in 2009 and launch three new models, including two Nissan brand models and a Dongfeng brand model. The company expects to achieve sales growth of 28% this year by capturing the opportunity of the country's auto industry stimulus policies.
