Three new Lotus models to debut at SH auto show

Shanghai, March 21 (Gasgoo.com) China Youngman Automotive Co Ltd. has remained low profile with its six other new models plan since the company introduced the Lotus Jingsu and RCR (Jingyue) brands. As the Shanghai Auto Show 2009 is approaching, Lotus eventually unveils its new car models, Sina.com reported today.

Recently, Youngman Automotive’s Chairman of the Board, Pang Qingnian revealed that the Jinan and Taian plants of the Lotus Shandong base will be launched for production in the coming May or June. Presently the plants are being facilitated with manufacturing equipment for production capacity of 200,000 units. In addition, Lotus will speed up the construction progress of the Hangzhou base. And according to schedule, the Hangzhou base is expected to start production at the end of this year. At that time, Lotus will significantly upgrade its vehicle production scale to the annual output of 450,000 units.

And all these facts have clearly showed Pang Qingnian’s vision and ambition. After 5 years in the car field, Youngman Automotive chooses to surprise the industry by implementing tremendous-scale production plan despite the downturn environment. Youngman’s marketing strategy does confuse its peers and even intimidate its competitors with overwhelming power.

Although Lotus is still the new force in the car field, the company has gain a great deal of attention due to its “never rains but pours” policy. In the Beijing Auto Show 2006, Lotus made its impressive debut by not only bringing the first-ever domestic racing car Jingsu, but more significantly introducing the global leading technical consultancy Lotus Automobile Technology Project. And this has brought gigantic impact on the domestic automobile industry due to Lotus ground-breaking initiative of introduction of vehicle technology into China’s passenger vehicle field. And it is very possible that the superiority of this mode will shock the industry again at the Shanghai Auto Show next month.

According to Lotus official announcements, the company is going to promote the brand with a powerful line-up by simultaneously displaying five models at the Shanghai Auto Show. The line-up not only includes two new British-made Lotus racing cars, but also covers three brand-new models. Two of these new models, a MPV model and a hybrid racing car model, will make their debut while the long-awaited domestic model Jingsu, CRC will be released as well.
