Chengdu Auto to supply camshaft to GM venture

Chengdu Auto Parts Co., Ltd., an affiliate under Sichuan Hejia Co., Ltd., wins a Gen III camshaft supply agreement from Shanghai General Motors Co., Ltd., an auto joint venture of General Motors Corp. and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group) (SAIC).

It was announced on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by Sichuan Hejia, which, based in the western Chinese city of Chengdu, is engaged in the fields of camshaft, computer, food machinery, and agriculture.

Shanghai General Motors has sent a product schedule to Chengdu Auto, which is ordered to produce a total of about 3 million camshafts, valued at about CNY 350 million, and to drive up production gradually as of 2010.

Also located in Chengdu, Chengdu Auto is a major production base of engine camshafts in China, with a land area of eight hectares and total assets of CNY 230 million.
