Wuhan Steel to supply to Nissan Motor
Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron & Steel (Group) Corp. (Wuhan Steel) has just been informed that it has passed the review of the quality ensuring system in the headquarters of Japanese auto giant Nissan Motor Company.
From April 2009 on, the Chinese steelmaker will start to supply products to Nissan Motor, becoming one of global suppliers to take part in the production of high-grade vehicles. It means that Wuhan Steel has marched into the international high-grade vehicle steel field.
The steelmaker, located in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province, central China, started communications with Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Co., a Chinese venture of Nissan Motor, as early as 2006, and it gained the Nissan cold rolled plate and coil certificate at the end of 2007.
This year, Wuhan Steel will also provide products to some medium- and high-end vehicle manufacturers, such as FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. one Chinese ventures of German Volkswagen AG, and Shanghai General Motors Co., Ltd., an arm of US General Motors.
