Sinotruk Q1 sales up 81% to 31,900 vehicles

Shanghai, April 14 (Gasgoo.com) China's truck maker Sinotruck sold 31,900 vehicles in the first quarter, down 2.18% year on year but up 81% over the last quarter, the company said in a report to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

In the report, Sinotruk also said its production of heavy duty trucks reached 32,700 units in the first quarter, down slightly by 1.68% year on year but up 148% over the final quarter of 2008.

CNHTC Jinan Truck Co., a subsidiary of Sinotruk, said it sold 15,300 heavy duty trucks in the first quarter, down 17.66% year on year but up 55.8% over the last quarter, the company said in a report issued last night.

CNHTC's production of heavy duty trucks reached 23,900 units during the same period, up 1.86% year on year and 194% over the fourth quarter of 2008.
