Dongfeng to debut six new models at SH show
Shanghai, April 16 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Motor, China's third-biggest vehicle producer, will debut six new passenger cars models, including its own Fengshen sedan, at the 2009 Shanghai auto show, reported Xinhua.
"We plan to debut three production models involving Fengshen and three concepts, including one D-class sedan, one BSG hybrid car and a pure electric vehicle at the show," said Li Chunrong, vice general manager of Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Company.
The Fengshen sedan is developed by Dongfeng's own technology center with input from ItalDesign. It is built on a modified version of the Citroen ZX platform. Under the hood is a 105-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine.
Mr Li said the company has reached an agreements with 54 dealers for selling its own-brand cars, with more dealers still being negotiated.
The Dongfeng Fengshen sedan will be formally unveiled next week at the
2009 Shanghai Auto Show.
