Shanghai, April 20 (Gasgoo.com) FAW-Mazda has brought two heavyweight new cars to the Shanghai auto show: the all-new Mazda6 (Ruiyi) sedan and the legendary Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe, which will be imported to the Chinese market in June this year for sale at a price of 299,800 yuan ($43,900), said sina.com today, citing a sales executive of the company.

The convertible hard-top Mazda MX-5 is the world's fastest Roadster Coupe model. The MX-5 Roadster Coupe displayed at the 2009 Shanghai auto show is the electric hard-top edition of the latest upgraded third-generation MX-5.

The 2009 Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe now has several additional features including a new mesh-type front grille surrounded by a chrome edging trim, headlamps featuring chrome bezels and exterior door handles with a chrome finish.

Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe is a legendary model. Since its birth in 1989, it has garnered more than 180 awards of global car competition and has been listed in the Guinness World Records as the most produced two-seater convertible coupe. By the end of 2008, the output of Mazda MX-5 exceeded 850,000 units.

While the all-new Mazda6 is locally produced by FAW Mazda for the Chinese market, the Mazda MX-5 coupe will be imported to China for sale. The imported Mazda MX-5 is expected to sell in the Chinese market starting June.
