Lamborghini unveils new Murcielago in China
Shanghai, April 23 (Gasgoo.com) Automobili Lamborghini has launched its new sports car Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce to the Chinese market at Shanghai motor show, following the Italian marque's official opening on 17 April of Lamborghini's fourth showroom in southwest China's Chengdu city, sina.com said today.
On the heels of Porsche's unveiling of its Panamera 4-door, came the China launch by Automobili Lamborghini for its Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. Rich Chinese buyers (the U.S. price is north of $350,000) now can have this exotic mid-engine super sports car with a 670-hp., 6.5-liter V12. The frame bodywork except for roof and door panels is carbon fiber.
"China becomes an always more important market for Lamborghini," said Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. "Lamborghini and its dealer partners benefit from an established and respected luxury brand, in this region as in our other markets."
Lamborghini currently has four operating dealers in mainland China, located in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, and one is also operating in Hong Kong. Three other dealers will be opened in 2009: one in Hangzhou, one in Xiamen and one in Shenzhen.
