Changfeng to launch B-class Acumen by year-end
Shanghai, April 27 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese pickup and SUV maker Changfeng Motor has announced it will launch its B-class Acumen sedan by the end of the year and will roll out hatchback Acumen in March 2010, Guangzhou Daily reported, citing Chen Zhengchu, general manager of the company.
At the ongoing 2009 Shanghai auto show, Changfeng Motor showcases 11 car models, including two global debuts, a B-class Acumen car and an Acumen sports coupe. The carmaker claims Acumen is its fully in-house developed B-class model and also its most important strategic model for sedan producing.
Apart from Acumen, Changfeng Motor also plans to launch C-class cars by September, 2010 and sports coupes by 2011, said Chen.
Changfeng Motor’s sales in the first quarter of 2009 rose by 18% year on year, which strengthened the market confidence of Chen Zhengchu, who forecasted the China’s passenger vehicles sales would reach seven million units and the country’s auto market would increase by 20%.
Chen disclosed that his company, which emphasizes Liebao SUV sales now, aims to sell 48,000 Liebao SUVs.
