Shanghai, May 5 (Gasgoo.com) Wuhan-based Xiao Long Auto kicked off the 10,000-kilometer off-road testing of its Xiaolong SUV, dubbed "Chinese Hummer," starting in Caidian, Wuhan on May 4, People's Daily reported today.

Testing staff of the Chinese SUV maker will conduct three "extreme" tests on the Xiao Long SUVs, consisting of an extreme altitude test in Tibet (of southwestern China), an extreme heat test in Xinjiang (of northwestern China) and an extreme cold test in Heilongjiang (of northeastern China). The whole testing process will take four months, during which the Hummer-like vehicles will travel a total distance of 16,000 kilometers.

The Xiao Long off-road vehicle, known as the "Chinese Hummer," was independently developed by a private company in Wuhan over a period of 10 years. All the vehicle components and parts are domestically made, and the Chinese company holds the intellectual property rights to and independent brand ownership of the vehicle.

As most of its components and parts can be generally used to various vehicle models, this SUV vehicle can be transformed into over 30 different models, which will be extensively used in many fields such as petroleum, water and geological surveying projects.
