BYD F3 sales up 143% y/y in April to 22,721 units

From Xinhua| May 19 , 2009 15:28 BJT

Chinese automaker BYD Auto sold 32,095 vehicles in April, with its F3 model sales hitting new high of 22,721 units, up 143 percent from a year earlier, according to the latest data from the China Passenger Car Association.

The sales surge was mainly due to its short delivery term, and the sales promotion at early April as well.

Currently, many automakers have postponed the delivery term to about one month upon concerns over limited production capacity and market downturn.

In contrast, BYD Auto added a new painting line and kept expanding production capacity this year. At present, it only takes two weeks for customers to get the car after placing an order, thus encouraging purchases of the model.
