Geely sales in Jan-May top 100,000 units, up 58%

Shanghai, June 9 (Gasgoo.com) During the first five months this year, Geely Auto sold 101,171 vehicles in the domestic Chinese market, up 57.8% from a year earlier, xinhuanet.com reported today. Sales of the King Kong, Vision, Freedom Cruiser models all rose more than 100% in the five months.

In April, a 1.5L model was added to the Vision lineup to benefit from the government's support measures for small cars and was in short supply soon after its launch, boosting the sales of Vision series in May by 185.1% year on year (y/y) to more than 5,000 units.

As a heavyweight vehicle product of Geely Auto, the King Kong series sold more than 140,000 units in the first five months, with 5,921 units sold in May, up 134.2% y/y.

The Freedom Cruiser is currently the best-selling model of Geely and its monthly sales of about 10,000 units have retained its lead in China's 1.3L sedan segment, with Jan-May sales at 45,148 units, up 79.9% y/y, including 8,784 sold in May, up 119,3% y/y.
