Shanghai, June 29 (Gasgoo.com) Hong Kong-listed Great Wall Motor Co, China's largest manufacturer of sports utility vehicles, said it sold about 80,000 vehicles in China in the first five months of this year, up 83.2 percent from a year earlier, the China Securities Journal reports Monday.

The impressive growth was contributed by the introduction of its relatively fuel efficient sedan models such as the 1.3L, 1.5L GW Florida and 1.5L Coolbear in the period. The company plans to roll out more new models in the second half of this year, including 1.5L CROSS, CH031 sedans, 1.3L and 1.5L Hover SUVs, etc.

Great Wall has a target to sell 200,000 vehicles in 2009, up from roughly 120,000 units last year.
