Mazda China June sales up 30% to 13,998 units

Shanghai, July 10 (Gasgoo.com) Mazda Motor (China) Co said in a statement on Thursday that Mazda sold 13,998 vehicles in June in China, up 30.5 percent from a year earlier.

Sales at FAW Mazda Motor Sales Co, a distributor of Mazda brand vehicles in China, stood at 7,665 units in June and sales at Changan Ford Mazda Automobile, Mazda's Chinese JV with Ford Motor Company and Changan Automotive Group, were 6,343 units last month.

The Japanese automaker's first half sales in China rose 24.5 percent from a year earlier to 78,496 units, according the company's statement.

Sales at FAW Mazda rose 23.3 percent in May to 48,807 units, and sales of Mazda brands cars at Changan Ford Mazda rose 26.6 percent to 29,689 units.

Mazda is expecting its vehicle sales in China through the two ventures to reach 170,000 units throughout 2009.
