Dongfeng Motor sold 808,100 vehicles in H1

Shanghai, July 30 (Gasgoo.com) The state parent of Dongfeng Motor Group Co (0489.HK) sold 808,100 vehicles in the first half of the year, equivalent to 57.7 percent of its annual target, reports Shanghai Securities Journal quoting company data.

Dongfeng, which operates car manufacturing ventures with PSA Peugeot-Citroen (PEUP.PA), Honda Motor (7267.T) and Nissan Motor (7201.T), said sales of passenger vehicles in the first half were 607,000 units, up 27 percent from a year earlier and sales of commercial vehicles came to 201,000 units, without giving comparison figures.

It also posted sales revenue of 107 billion yuan ($15.7 billion) for the first half of 2009, up 7.95 percent from a year earlier. The company said H1 profit moved up by 10.57 percent but gave no comparison details.

Dongfeng posted a 7.2 percent rise in 2008 profit to 4.04 billion yuan. The company aims to sell 1.4 million vehicles this year and achieve sales revenue of 200 billion yuan.
