Honda China July sales up 14.9% year on year
Shanghai, August 7 (Gasgoo.com) Honda Motor Co., Japan's second-biggest carmaker, said Friday that it sold 50,647 vehicles in China in July, up 14.9% from 44,093 units a year earlier.
The Japanese automaker and its joint ventures sold a total of 304,459 vehicles in China in the first seven months of the year, up 12.4 percent from 270,836 units a year earlier, the company said in a statement.
The company said the achievement was mainly contributed by its hot-selling City car, sales of which rose 67.5% in July from a year earlier, and 59.1% in the first seven months this year.
Sales of the CRV sport-utility vehicle were also strong, rising 55.1% in July from a year earlier and up 28.8% in the January-July period.
