Shanghai, August 10 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Yueda Kia Automobile Co, a joint venture between Chinese automaker Dongfeng Group and Korean automaker Kia Motor, posted a 104.1% year on year increase in sales in July to 21,292 units, reports Xinhua News Agency.

Also Chinese sales of its parent group, Hyundai Kia Automotive, excluding imported vehicles, surged 145.6% year on year in July to 65,105 units.

In a separate report, Kia Motors recently said that the upcoming summer strike by its workers will affect Hyundai and Kia's vehicle export supply, and the newly launched Kia Sorento's imports to China this year will be limited to 3,000 units.

The new Sorento was released to the Chinese market last week and its sales target for this year was previously set at 2,000 units. However, due to pre-launch bookings of over 1,000 vehicles the automaker had raised this sales target to 3,000 units, with the intention of increasing it further depending upon forthcoming demand.
