Hafei Motor extends partnership with Chinese EV maker

Shanghai, September 7 (Gasgoo.com) Harbin Hafei Automobile Industry Group Co has signed a strategic partnership contract with Tianjin-based Qingyuan Electric Vehicle Co to extend their cooperation on development of new energy vehicles, the Xinhua reports on Sunday.

The two companies began cooperation in 2007 to develop a battery-powered version of the Saibao. The electric sedan is expected to be sold in the US this year through Miles Automotive Group.

Hafei already delivered 800 mini electric trucks to the US under "Miles" brand, and to Netherland, Russia and other European countries as well

Based in north China's port city of Tianjin, Qingyuan is a new energy vehicle maker majoritily owned by China Automotive Technology &Research Center (CATARC). Its business is centered on R&D in the field of clean energy vehicle (pure EV, hybrid vehicle, alternative fuel vehicle, etc.).

Hafei Motor is a division of state-owned AviChina Industry & Technology, which builds military and commercial jets and helicopters.
