Shanghai, September 22 (Gasgoo.com) FAW-Mazda is planning to launch three new car models next year, ranging from sedan to MPV, China Car Times said today.

FAW-Mazda said it will introduce the sports version of the new Mazda6 model, and will also introduce the Mazda8 and the Mazda CX7 as locally produced vehicles.

The joint venture still plans to keep the previous generation Mazda6 in production in China to cater to the consumer that wants a budget luxury car, and will also offer the new Mazda6 as a premium product.

The new Mazda6 sports sedan is expected to take on a small but growing share in the premium sports sedan segment that has grown in China over recent months. It will rival the recently launched Honda Spirra and Toyota Reiz.

By late 2010, FAW-Mazda's vehicles will include sedans, premium sedans, SUVs and MPVs, forming the company's fairly comprehensive lineup in the Chinese market.

FAW-Mazda's a new plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2010 and will boost the carmaker's annual production capacity to 120,000 units.
