Dongfeng leads China Feb commercial vehicle sales

Shanghai, March 19 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Automobile Co Ltd, a listed unit of Dongfeng Motor Corp, sold nearly 40,000 commercial vehicles in February, leading China's CV sales last month, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, media reported.

China's commercial vehicle sales in February grew 21.5% from a year earlier to 268,600 units, but down 22.87% from January. In the first two months, commercial vehicle sales leapt 77.87% year on year to 616,800 units and output surged 88.02% to 657,700 units.

Of the top 5 best sellers, Dongfeng Auto took the lead with 39,900 units sold, followed by Beiqi Foton Motor (with 37,700 units), FAW Car (with 29,700 units) sold, Jianghuai Auto (with 19,200 units) and Sinotruk Group (with 15,000 units).

The combined sales of the top 10 commercial vehicle producers reached 191,100 units, taking up 71% of the country's total CV sales in the month. In the first two months, their combined sales reached 430,100 units, or 70% of the country's total CV sales in the period.

China's total auto sales, including passenger and commercial vehicles, rose 46% to more than 1.21 million last month, slower than January when sales more than doubled from a year earlier to top 1.6 million units, a new record.
