Shanghai GM sales up 88.4% in first four months
In April, Shanghai GM sales reached 89,562 units, an increase of 62% from a year earlier, of which the Chevrolet and the Cadillac brands sales accelerated ahead by 100%.
The Chevrolet brand sales in April surged by 135% to 38,872 units, of which the Chevrolet Cruze car sales came to 15,491 units, a breakthrough of 150,000 units one year after its launching, and the new Chevrolet Sail sedan sales were 7,823 units.
The new Chevrolet Sail hatchback and the all-new Chevrolet Spark were displayed at the recent Beijing auto show, which was seen as a chance to further enhance the Chevrolet brand's market share.
The Cadillac brand sales in April continued to rise, with 1,440 units sold, a 137.6% growth, of which the new generation luxury SUV Cadillac SPX sales exceeded 700 units, forming a major growth point. The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid car, which was well received in the market for fuel saving of more than 40%, is equipped with a dual-mode hybrid.
The Buick brand sales in April rose by 29.4% to 49,247 units, of which the New Buick Lacross and the Buick Regal models jointly boosted sales to 19,396 units, in particular, with 11,330 units of the Buick Regal sold, making a new record high. The Buick GL84 sales reached to 5,581 units, continuing to lead in the high-end business car market. In addition, the new five-door coupe Buick Hideo XT 4 achieved a sales volume of 4,468 units last month.
