Dongfeng to launch Fengshen A+ Class sedan next year

Shanghai, May 10 (Gasgoo.com) Although Dongfeng Motor's Tai-concept car, the prototype of Dongfeng Fengshen's first B-Class concept car, was showcased at the Beijing Auto Show recently, the car will not serve as the first product as Dongfeng Motor expands its product line in the future.

In addition, Reporters got the news from Dongfeng Fengshen's insider that after launching the H30 Cross wagon this year, Dongfeng Motor will import from Nissan an all-new A+ Class sedan and is likely to put it into market next year.

Currently, there is no much information about this A+ Class sedan, but relevant person in charge in Dongfeng Motor said there would be some changes made to the style to embody features of the Dongfeng Fengshen family, but the overall change would not be big.


However, there will still be some in configurations, particularly in core powertrain. The 1.6L and 2.0L engines are expected to be equipped, and the body size and configuration will be higher than the H30 and S30 models.

Moreover, relevant sources explained that the new own-brand A+ Class sedan might be designed at Nissan's Bluebird, and Dongfeng Motor and Nissan have earlier reached an agreement on the technology transfer of the model.

At present, the Bluebird model has gradually faded into history of Nissan's product line. With significant changes made, the Sylphy model has been put into market for a long while after the Bluebird. Therefore, there will be no conflict between Dongfeng Fengshen and Dongfeng Nissan when the former starts production of this new model, which, as known, has Nissan's technology.

Introduction of this A + Class sedan is only a transition of Dongfeng Fengshen's entering the mid- to high-end vehicle sectors. The real B-Class car will be launched after it. A person close to Dongfeng Fengshen said the intermediate cars to be mass-produced in the future, will retain many elements of strong traditional Chinese style on the Tai-Concept model, and the body size will achieve the same level as the Accord model.

Previously, Li Shaozhu, general manager for Dongfeng Motor's Passenger car sector said that, in the wake of the H30 and S30 models, it will be a 2.0L large vehicle platform and the first future intermediate car will also be produced based on this platform.
