Dongfeng Citroen to cut 50% carbon dioxide emissions
Shanghai,May10(Gasgoo.com) Last week, Dongfeng Citroen officially released its “green to enjoy the future”as the slogan of its environmental strategy, which aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 50% in 2020.
According to this stategy, “In 2010, Dongfeng Citroen will adopt PSA's new material standard so as to completely eradicate harmful substance like Pb in the cars. In 2020, all models' carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 50% more than it did in 2009.”said Dongfeng Citroen vice president Wei Wenqing.
The above mentioned Dongfeng Citroen's carbon reduction target is the first unambiguous one among all the mainstream car manufacturers at home.
Wei Wenqing said in order to realize carbon reduction, the company's models will use a range of fuel economy technology, and at the same time, new energy automotive products from various technical lines will gradually appear in the sequence of Dongfeng Citroen's products.
It is reported that, after the new Ailice CN G edition that carries the most advanced fifth-generation CN G technology, Dongfeng Citroen will launch its Quatre equipped with STT (start&stop system).
STT is a kind of micro energy-saving and environment protection dynamic system that can reduce the carbon emissions by 15%. Wei Wenqing said STT will be extended to other models in the future.
