Geely Auto Jan-Apr sales up 55% to 135,300 vehicles

Shanghai, May 20 (Gasgoo.com) Geely Auto recently announced that the company sold 32,441 vehicles in April, up 7.2% month on month and up 24.7% year on year, media reported.

In the first four months of this year, Geely's vehicles sales grew 55.1% from a year earlier to 135,279 units, achieving 38% of the company's full-year sales target of 400,000 units.

In April sales, Geely's three best-selling models were the Free Cruiser, Kingkong, and Vision, which sold 5,588, 7,141 and 4,233 units, respectively. The Emgrand sold 5,414 units, up 25% month on month.

Geely said the company would launch five new models this year to keep its continual and sustainable growth in the auto market.

Parent company Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, the buyer of Ford Motor's Volvo car unit, plans to increase its annual vehicle sales six-fold to 2 million units by 2015 and to launch 24 new models in the next two years.

Geely Group sold 325,000 vehicles last year, with three new models launched, and has set this year's sales target at as much as 500,000 units.
