Shanghai, June 23 (Gasgoo.com) Media reported on June 22 that as FAW Xiali's main source of profit, FAW Toyota launched its brand new Prado (Puladuo) with five different grades and body colors to further consolidate its leading position in the high-end SUV market (with a retail price above 400,000 yuan).

The engine size of those five Prado models is 4.0L, divided into TX, TX-L, TX-L NAVI, VX, and VX NAVI five grades.

In recent years, China's SUV market has witnessed a rapid growth and maintained a continued growth trend. In 2007 and 2008, the growth rate in the SUV market exceedingly surpassed the rate in the sedan market. In 2009, the total sales volume of China's SUV market was close to 720,000 units, up 151% year on year.

Data show that from 2003 to 2009, Prado's sales volume in the high-end SUV market had a steady growth. In the first four months of this year, with more models released to the market, the monthly sales in this segment almost doubled over the same period in 2009.
