China's Jan-Apr second-hand vehicle sales up 12.85%

Shanghai, June 30 (Gasgoo.com) In the first four months of the year, China's second-hand vehicle sales volume grew 12.85% from a year earlier to 1.1 million units, media reported, citing the China Automobile Dealers Association. The growth rate was about half of that of the period's new vehicle sales.

In April alone, the second-hand vehicle transaction volume increased 12.75% year-on-year to 330,000 vehicles, and the transaction value rose 1.67% year-on-year to 14.49 billion yuan ($2.13 bln).

The average transaction price in the first four months increased 1.61% to 44,200 yuan per vehicle, with April's average price growing by 3.06% to 43,800 yuan.

In the Jan-April period, the proportion of trucks to the whole transaction volume of second-hand vehicles dropped 1.24% year-on-year, buses down 1.64%, while the proportion of second-hand sedans increased 20.91%.

The association also said that private buyers accounted for 85.95% of the second-hand vehicle purchases in the first four months, and the age of the vehicles mainly ranged from three to 10 years.
