Shanghai, July 2 (Gasgoo.com) On 1st July, Chang'an Automobile Co. Ltd signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Mobile to jointly develop 3G cars, media reported.

The two sides committed to each other in the agreement that they will cooperate in the fields of R&D of the intelligent car (including but not limited to wireless remote control and testing technology) and its OEM market on the aspects of vehicle remote diagnosis, positioning, navigation and the like.

Apart from that, they will also apply "M2M" (machine to machine) communication technology to the car. This technology can conduct remote monitoring and management of the car by downloading 3G network to collect the vehicle operating data, and then deliver it through China Mobile's wireless network to the backstage to process.

Last year, Changan Auto also reached a strategic cooperation agreement with China Unicom. Now, the two largest telecommunication companies in China have all joined with Changan Auto in launching the new project of combining 3G technology with cars.

Zhang Baolin, CEO of Changan Auto said that once the Changan 3G car is put into use, vehicle remote diagnosis, location tracking, car audio and video entertainment, the internet and mobile office, which only appear in science fiction movies, will come true in the lives of the car owners.
