Yulon Nissan lifts '10 sales goal to 32,000 vehicles
Shanghai, July 2 (Gasgoo.com) Nissan Motor's joint venture in Taiwan, Yulon Nissan Motor Co, has raised sales goal to 32,000 vehicles from 31,000, including about 1,000 imported Infiniti cars, the Taiwan Economic News reported today.
Yulon Nissan said its sales in the first five months of the year exceeded targets by 20%, forecasting the overall car sales in Taiwan would reach 270,000 to 280,000 units this year.
In addition to exports of Taiwan-assembled Nissan Serena vans to the Philippines, Yulon Nissan plans to ship Nissan Teana cars to the Philippines and Vietnam, as well as Livina subcompacts to Egypt this year, and the company will likely restart export of the 3.5-ton Nissan Cabstar to Mexico.
Yulon Nissan president Wu Hsin-fa said that Nissan's joint venture Dongfeng Motor Co. in mainland China is expected to sell over 600,000 passenger cars this year, including over 270,000 units sold in the first five months.
Parent company Yulon Motor has started a joint venture with mainland China's Dongfeng Motor Corp to make Luxgen models in Hangzhou. It has also started making Geely Panda-based minicars (renamed Tobe) in Taiwan.
