Of the company's first-half sales in China, the Nissan brand sold 497,964 units, up 50.6% year on year, and the Infiniti brand sold 5,113 units, a record increase of 218.4%.

Nissan Motor expects its sales in China to increase by about 12% to 850,000 vehicles this year, even as the pace of market growth slows down. The third-biggest Japanese carmaker aims to expand its annual production capacity in China to 900,000 units by 2012.
