Great Wall Motor exports 300 Hover M1 cars to India in July

From Global Times| July 25 , 2010 10:16 BJT

The Great Wall Motor Company Limited announced Thursday that it had shipped 300 units of the Hover M1 to Mali earlier this month.

The Chinese company sold the cars to the Ministry of Communication of Mali, which is expected to use them as taxis, and it reportedly won the bid due to its cost-effectiveness.

Tidiane Mbodji, a Mali sales manager at Great Wall Motor, said the company won because "Hover M1 is easy to handle, oil conservative and cost-effective. There is no doubt that such a highly qualified car can win the bid."

Great Wall Motor also entered the Australian market last year and now sells 300 Hover SUV units per month.

The company exported 2000 units of the Hover H5 to Italy last month, further proof of its ability to expand into the international market.

Great Wall Motor has exported about 700 vehicles per month to Russia in April and May, and 1000 in June alone.

The company has also made rapid progress in west Asia, Africa and Latin America.
