Shanghai August 12 (Gasgoo.com) China's leading independent automaker, Chery Automobile Corporation Ltd sold 8,834 vehicles abroad in July, up 200% year on year, media reported.

Chery's sales figure signifies that Chery has moved out of the financial recession and is taking on a full recovery. Chery's terminal sales in July were 45,454 units, a growth of 30.8% over the same month last year, maintaining its first place among the home-made passenger carmakers.

Chery said that on August 4, the Ministry of Information and Industry announced that 14 models from Chery have reached the third stage fuel consumption limits standards. So far, Chery has 36 models that meet the fuel consumption standards, covering Chery, Riich and Karry brands series.

According to the country's subsidy policy for energy-saving and new energy vehicles, all the models that have a displacement below 1.6 L and meet the third stage fuel consumption limits will get a subsidy of 3000 yuan($447)

An industry expert said that with Chery's 36 models getting the approval and soon  to be put on sale, Chery's products' structure will be further optimized.  Chery's advantages in energy saving and costs will lay a foundation for a strong sales growth momentum in the second half of this year in domestic market.

On the other hand, due to the ongoing improvement in the global market environment and its overseas production base and marketing services network, Chery's foreign exports market will see a further recovery. It is expected that Chery will have a new wave of sales increase starting August.
