BYD's electrical appliances production base built in Shenzhen

Shanghai August 18 (Gasgoo.com) BYD's electrical appliances company has settled in Baolong Industrial Park Zone, Longgang District, Shenzhen, where the automaker has an electronics product manufacturing base, and construction of the infrastructure has currently been completed, BYD said yesterday.

Despite the many doubts over the thing, BYD has been moving with surprising speed toward the filed of electrical appliances, far beyond outsiders' expectations.

Yesterday, reporters learned from BYD that the company has established various functional departments including marketing, comprehensive, product, brand, etc..

Besides, a female staff member of the company has been transferred to the new company to serve as PR manager. BYD has hired a large number of college graduates at present.

Under the plan, BYD will launch its first electrical product in the second half of this year, but the specific product has yet to be determined.

However, sources still said the HongKong listed company is most likely to make a TV or an air conditioner first.

An insider from BYD also revealed that the company has a wealth of experience, adequate technology and mature industry chain in LCD screen, automotive air conditioning, compressor and other core fields, so there is a great possibility that BYD will tap the electrical appliances market with the two products.

Well, early sources from Hong Kong said BYD's Chief Executive Officer Stella Li has denied the report that BYD Co. plans to enter the electrical appliances market, starting with TV manufacturing, saying BYD has many types of products, and will not produce televisions.
