Dongfeng PSA cooperates with Chinese badminton team to promote Citroen C5

Shanghai August 24 (Gasgoo.com) French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen's joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Corp recently signed a sponsor agreement with the China national badminton team in the hope of promoting the Citroen C5 cars, media reported Tuesday.

As a senior sponsor, Dongfeng-PSA JV will supply the Citroen C5 and C-Quatre cars to the Chinese Badminton Association and the China national badminton team over the next three years.

The joint venture said it has achieved a breakthrough in brand, sales and other aspects in the past year and hopes to create better high-end brand value following the launch of the C5 car and gains itself more confidence in increasing sales through the cooperation with the China national badminton team.

The Citroen C5 offers outstanding fuel economy while displaying a reasonably powerful output. The four-cylinder engine produces 120kW of power and 320Nm of torque, which can take the car from zero to 100km/h in 10 seconds but consumes only 6.8L/100km.

With a sedan that performs greatly with good smoothness and comfort, Dongfeng PSA has full confidence in accomplishing its annual sales target of 200,000 units this year and has so far sold about 120,000 vehicles in China.
