Chery, BenQ to develop lithium battery thermal insulation mterial
Chery Technology Co., Ltd. has entered into a partnership with BenQ in the form of a joint venture (JV)- each holding 50 percent of stakes- to develop and manufacture thermal insulation material applied for lithium batteries, according to a press release issued by Chery Auto website Tuesday.
The JV will be located at Wuhu's new technology industrial development zone, Anhui Province and is projected to deploy laboratory and experiment lines by year-end. The production plant will be built in 2011, and in 2012, trial production begins.
The amount for total investments was not disclosed in the press release.
