The company will not put the newly launched ASX SUV into local production although there are other rumors swirling about, said the President and the General Manager of Mitsubishi Motor Sales (China) Co. Ltd. (MMSCN) in an interview last week.

Aimed at buyers looking for something between a Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback and an Outlander, the Mitsubishi ASX (Active Smart Crossover) is currently available in five versions in the Chinese market, with the same displacement of 2.0 liters and sold between 183,800 yuan-239,800 yuan ($27,000-$35,000).
