Audi China appoints new General Manager today
Shanghai September 1 (Gasgoo.com) Audi Japan's head Mr. Dominique Boesch will replace Mr. Johannes Thammer as General Manager of the Audi sales division at FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., effective from September 1, Beijing Youth Daily reported Wednesday.
Mr. Johannes Thammer will return to Germany to assume responsibility for Group Sales Strategy and Projects at Volkswagen. He has been Managing Director of the Audi Sales Division at FAW-Volkswagen in China since June 2008, and boosted Audi China's sales to 150,000 vehicles from the previous 100,000 vehicles in less than two years.
In the first seven months of this year, 128, 941 Audi vehicles were delivered to customers in China, up 62.4% year on year, making the country the largest market for the brand.
Mr.Dominique Boesch, currently 44, who has since 2007 served as Managing Director of Audi Japan, started his career with Volkswagen as an intern in 1991. From 1993 to 1998, he had been primarily responsible for Audi sales in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Turkey.
Having extensive experience in marketing and management, he was later transferred to Audi Paris, still working in sales, and took charge of the regional office of Audi Division Singapore in 2003 and became Managing Director of Audi Korea in 2004.
