BMW China appoints new President today

Shanghai September 1 (Gasgoo.com) Xu Zhijun has been named as President of BMW China Automotive Trading Ltd., effective from September 1, following Karl-Heinz Schmid's retirement, Beijing Youth Daily reported Wednesday.

On the same day, the company appointed Lu Yi as Vice President, responsible for sales.

Xu Zhijun, born in Singapore, joined BMW in 1997 as Regional Manager of the mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, and began serving as Managing Director of BMW Hong Kong in 2004 and Vice President of BMW China in 2006.

Lu Yi started his career in BMW at the end of 2004 and was in charge of enterprise management including product publicity, government affairs and management in the East China region.
