Chery recalling 3,200 Riich X1 SUVs in China on flawed design
Shanghai September 8 (Gasgoo.com) Chery Auto has started today to recall 3,200 units of its mini SUV Riich X1 in China due to flawed design that could affect tyre safety, 163.com reported Wednesday, according to the Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).
The Chery Riich X1 SUVs being recalled are equipped with185/65R15 CHAMPIRO128 and 185/65R15 CHAMPIRO228 tires, and were made between December 1, 2009 and January 12, 2010.
The faulty design could cause abnormal friction of front tyres with the chassis distance rods when braking, while sharply turning the steering wheel, the statement warned.
The company will offer free replacements of five 185/65R15 CHAMPIRO228 tires, including spare tires, for owners affected to avoid possible risks.
Chery Auto said it would inform owners of the recall from September 8, and meanwhile owners can call the company on a hotline at 400-883-8888 or AQSIQ at 010-65537365/59799616 for more information.
