Tata Motors sees no need for partnership with Japan

From Reuters| October 26 , 2010 10:25 BJT

India's Tata Motors (TAMO.BO) does not see any immediate need to form a partnership with Japanese automakers, Vice Chairman Ravi Kant said in Tokyo on Tuesday.

Kant, speaking at the Nikkei Global Management Forum, also said that the Indian automaker does not have any further plans to acquire overseas automakers, adding that current alliances are sufficient.

Tata, India's leading vehicle maker with about two-thirds of the Indian market, is part of the Tata Group conglomerate and owns the luxury Jaguar and Land Rover brands.
