Chang'an Ford Mazda names Marin Burela as CEO
Shanghai October 27 (Gasgoo.com) Marin Burela, former CEO of Ford Australia, has been appointed as CEO of Chang'an Ford Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. (CFMA), effective November 11, 2010, the company's Board of Directors announced today.
Current CEO Shen Yingquan will officially retire from CFMA on December 31, 2010. During November and December, he will still work in the company to ensure a successful leadership transition.
Marin Burela first joined Ford Motor in 1984, and has served in a variety of senior management positions in Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, and Product Development, in Asia, Europe and North America, including senior management and board positions at Jaguar and Land Rover, sources said.
After his inauguration, Marin Burela will be responsible for CFMA's overall business in China, consisting of construction of the automaker's third vehicle factory and second engine production base located in southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
Shen Yingquan started his career as CFMA CEO in January 2007. Under his leadership, the company has gone through the global economic crisis and is proceeding with new development plans.
Chongqing-based Chang'an Ford Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. is a joint venture among U.S. Ford Motor, Japan-based Mazda Motor, and China's Chang'an Automobile (Group) Co., Ltd..
