Shanghai November 18 (Gasgoo.com) An Tiecheng, general manager of FAW-Volkswagen, will resign from the joint venture this year and likely to be promoted to deputy general manager of FAW Group Corp, China's second largest automaker, ycwb.com reported Thursday citing a source close to the matter.

Following the reshuffle, FAW-VW will make a series of personnel changes in its management and regional structure, including high-level personnel changes at VW, Audi and other regional operations, according to sources.

An Tiecheng, whose four-year term of office has ended at the end of 2009, replaced Qin Huanming as general manager of FAW-VW on January 1, 2006.

It is reported that FAW Group may transfer a person from one of its subsidiaries to FAW-VW as the new general manager. But whoever is going to succeed An Tiecheng, and Zhang Xiaojun, executive vice-president of FAW-VW Audi Sales Division, will be a big challenge for the Group.

FAW-VW has increased its vehicle sales from 250,000 units in 2006 to the current 800,000 units, while Audi sales during the period have grown to 200,000 units. To maintain the strong momentum and infuse new thinking in company strategy are now major tasks facing the joint venture.
